parting active channels when exiting colloquy prevents users from using proxies

Reported by: anselm Assigned to: timothy
Priority: normal Component: Colloquy (GUI)
Version: Severity: normal

Description

The point of a proxy is to appear to remain in the channel after you exit colloquy. Since colloquy auto-parts all channels when closing it fails to cooperate with the principle of a proxy. Most development on the internet is facilitated by persistent long duration irc channels. For serious irc users the proxy is a way to continue to be a part of the conversation even when not there.

The correction is to not part the channels when closing colloquy - or to make it an option.

This might have been true with really old Colloquy builds, not not anymore. I use a proxy daily, and we just send QUIT. Closing the window will PART any channels in that window. Close window does not equal quit.
